Coventry's Iain Dowie has made a significant loan signing ahead of next season's campaign.
Iain Dowie has made a significant transfer move ahead of next season's Championship campaign.
The Coventry boss says he has secured a season-long loan deal for one of his key transfer targets - but is remaining tight-lipped over his identity.
The former Crystal Palace and Charlton boss has not made a major signing since becoming manager at The Ricoh Arena in February.
"We are progressing fairly well on a lot of fronts and one of the things I wanted to do is already done," Dowie told the Coventry Telegraph.
"I can't say too much yet but it is agreed and done - a season-long loan for next year which I am delighted about.
"We are very clear on the areas we need to strengthen and we have got a lot of targets which have come from a long list and now become a lot more pointed.
"So we are actively working on bringing in new players and my brother Bob is now out there looking. That's what we are very much starting to focus on and making sure we do our homework."
Meanwhile, Adam Virgo and Leon McKenzie will miss the last three games of the season through injury.
On-loan Celtic defender Virgo fractured his wrist in Saturday's 4-0 home defeat against Preston, while McKenzie limped off with a thigh strain.
"Adam has got a double fracture of his wrist which he played on with, which was excellent, but he cannot play for the rest of the season now," added Dowie.
"Leon has got a thigh strain and that is him out for the rest of the season too so we will have to see how the rest of the squad are for the weekend."
