Discussions between the French club and Taarabt's current employers Queens Park Rangers have been open for some time, with the Ligue 1 outfit determined to get their man.
They have tabled a sizeable bid for the highly-rated playmaker, with his performances in QPR's successful promotion bid last season helping to increase his valuation.
The Loftus Road outfit are prepared to do a deal if the terms are right, with Flavio Briatore overseeing the transfer talks.

It appears as though the matter could be edging towards a conclusion, with Taarabt's representatives having entered the negotiations.
He will be keen to hear about PSG's ambitious plans for the future and the role he has to play in them.
Leonardo is the man charged with securing Taarabt's signature, with PSG having worked hard to bring the former Inter and AC Milan boss on board.
Sky Sports understands, however, that Liverpool could yet attempt to gate-crash proceedings and lure the Morocco international to Anfield.
