Hewitt heads back to Hoops

Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still has opted not to extend QPR striker Troy Hewitt's loan stay at the League Two club.

The 21-year-old saw his one-month deal come to an end after last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers, during which time he made seven appearances without finding the net. The news comes as somewhat of a surprise, with Still rueing his dearth of attacking options immediately after the Memorial Stadium reverse, with strikers Brian Woodall, Josh Scott, Sam Williams and Rob Edmans all currently sidelined through injury. "We are so short of attacking options at the moment because four players who would be challenging for places up front are out injured," Still said in his post-match press conference. It remains to be seen whether Still has other loan options up his sleeve as he looks to guide the Daggers, who have lost 10 of their last 11 league matches, away from the lower echelons of League Two.
