Hughes set to become new Rangers manager

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes says the club will name their new manager on Tuesday, with Mark Hughes' arrival expected to be confirmed. Hughes is poised to succeed Neil Warnock at Loftus Road after holding talks with the Rangers board on Monday. Warnock was axed as QPR boss on Sunday with the club sitting just one place above the drop zone after a poor run of form. Hughes declared talks successful after his meeting on Monday and it seems the former Fulham and Manchester City manager is set to return to management at QPR. QPR are hoping to make an appointment swiftly and Fernandes has revealed on Twitter that the new man could be in place by Tuesday. "Yes I am sure we will be announcing new QPR manager today," Tweeted Fernandes. Hughess has been out of work since leaving Fulham in the summer and it seems he will be in place for Sunday's trip to Newcastle, live on Sky Sports HD1
