Mark Hughes has challenged his players to produce the game of their careers in the final game of the season against title chasing Manchester City.
Djibril Cisse's late winner against Stoke sparked scenes of jubilation from the Rangers fans who flooded the pitch at the final whistle.
The win leaves Rangers two points above the drop zone and knowing they have to get something from the Etihad stadium next Sunday to ensure survival.
Nerves
"We have to go to Man City and play out of our skins and hope that they have a little bit of a bad day, and a bit of nerves because of their own situation and maybe we can get something out of it," Hughes told
Sky Sports.
"Obviously today was key from our point of view, we had to make sure we gave ourselves a chance in the last game and we have done that."
For Hughes, the game will pit him against his former club and the man who succeeded him as manager, Roberto Mancini.
Significance
But with City within touching distance of their first Premier League crown, the game will mean a lot to both sides for entirely different reasons.
"Let's see what happens, maybe it was in the stars and everybody was waiting for the last fixture," he added.
"I know when I looked at what the last game was when I got the job, you think that maybe that will be a game of significance. But maybe not many people thought it would be so huge for both clubs."
