Roque Santa Cruz is looking for a route out of Manchester City this summer and has refused to rule out taking in a third spell under the management of Mark Hughes.
The Paraguayan striker joined City in 2009, but has tumbled down the attacking pecking order since then.
With the Blues having added firewpower to their ranks on a regular basis, Santa Cruz has taken in loan spells at former employers Blackburn Rovers and Spanish outfit Real Betis in the last two years.
He has returned to England for pre-season training, but is keen to secure a permanent switch elsewhere.
The 30-year-old has hinted that a move to Queens Park Rangers could appeal, with Rs boss Hughes having previously signed him for Blackburn and City.
"Everybody knows that I have big respect for him and will always be very thankful to him for the time we worked together," Santa Cruz told Sky Sports News HD.
"I hope that he will have a great season and achieve his goals.
"Who knows? I want to play, I want to do good and I want to be successful. Who knows, we might work back together.
"I haven't spoken to him or anybody so it might be a long way to happen, but the important thing for me is to be fit and try to go to a place where I will play."
