The 33-year-old's current deal expires in the summer, and has been given no assurances that he will be offered a new contract by the R's boss Harry Redknapp.
And the former Fulham hitman knows that Saturday's play-off final could be his last for the club, and is fully aware a fine performance against Derby could put him in the shop window.
"Fingers crossed I can help QPR into the Premier League and get another contract here," Zamora told the London Evening Standard.
"I would like to stay but it is good timing that I am doing well at the moment and people are watching.
"It is good to get myself back out there to let everybody know that I am fit and healthy. "
Despite entering the twilight years of his career, Zamora believes he still has what it takes to be a success in the Premier League.
"My body feels good and the last couple of months have been brilliant for me," Zamora added.
"I have a lot of experience as well, so I could still do a job in the top flight."
