New York Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch has played down the chances of Shaun Wright-Phillips linking up with his brother Bradley at the MLS outfit.

Former England, Chelsea and Manchester City winger Shaun is without a club after he was released by QPR at the end of last season.

He has been training with the Red Bulls in recent days after flying out to the United States for Bradley’s wedding, but no deal with the club is imminent at the moment.

Marsch told Sky Sports News HQ: “Shaun is just here training right now. Bradley got married about two weeks ago and so Shaun was here for the wedding.

“He’s here looking for his next opportunity, but with us to try to stay sharp and it’s been really good having him in the group;  like his brother, a very humble guy, hard-working, trains hard, plays the game the right way.

“Everybody, I’m sure, back home knows that – he’s been a great footballer for years.

“But right now, it’s more he’s just here training, so it’s not anything permanent.”

Bradley Wright-Phillips added that his 33-year-old brother is in good shape and has nothing to rush back to England for so a deal with the Red Bulls, or another MLS club, remains a possibility as the transfer window is currently open.
