Claudio Ranieri called for an immediate response after watching his Leicester side's unbeaten record ended by Arsenal.

City went toe-to-toe with their visitors for most of a breathless game at the King Power Stadium, taking the lead and hitting the frame of the goal twice before Arsenal went on to win 5-2.

The defeat saw Arsenal overtake Leicester and move fourth, but Ranieri's side are just four points behind leaders Manchester United.

And the Italian, who next week takes City to Norwich, told Sky Sports: "I told the players everything is okay, and now it's important to restart."

Claudio Ranieri admits he was worried by Arsenal's strength on the counter-attack but the Leicester boss was proud of his side's efforts in their 5-2 loss

Speaking later in his post-match press conference he said: "I think we are sad because we wanted to continue to be unbeaten. It's important to learn something but now the reaction is important in the next match.

"They showed the maximum character. I understand it's difficult to play a team who use one or two touches. It's impossible, when you go to press they move the ball very quickly.

"The quality of the Arsenal players is a very high level. We tried to do our best and created good chances, some were unlucky, and it's important how we react in the next match."

Ranieri also had a word of praise for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, who finished with a hat-trick, saying: "When he plays at this level he is an amazing player and can do everything. The ball and him are both together."
