Claude Puel described Leicester's 2-1 victory over Tottenham as "amazing for the future" after the Foxes dug deep at the King Power Stadium.
A looping volley from Jamie Vardy and sublime effort from Riyad Mahrez helped Leicester take a 2-0 lead into half-time.
After the break, a dogged Leicester side continued to frustrate Tottenham, who pulled one back through Harry Kane but could not find an equaliser.
For Leicester, it was a fourth league win of the season, and Puel was delighted to see his side hold off Tottenham's second-half advances.
"It was a big win with quality. It was a fantastic game for us. In the first 30 minutes we tried to play on the floor as well as play on the counter-attack," Puel told Sky Sports.
"The goals from Jamie and Riyad were fantastic and this is amazing for the future.
"After the second half it was more difficult, but we had more opportunities. It was a very good game and it's important to continue this hard work on the pitch in the training sessions. It's just one game but it's promising."
Leicester's counter-attacking football was reminiscent of their 2015/16 Premier League-winning campaign, particularly with Vardy and Mahrez posing a constant threat.
However, Puel insists that is not Leicester's only weapon, as they proved on Tuesday night against Spurs.
"I look forward," added Puel. "It's just to give the players different opportunities to play in open play.
"I want to give them the chance to play in a different style. For example, we go to Burnley, who are in a fantastic moment and are good at set-pieces and can play good football also, so it will be another good challenge for us.
"It's important to play with the same confidence and quality no matter the style."
