Leicester City's development squad made it through to the last 16 of the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night as Swansea and West Ham's U21 sides suffered defeats.
The Foxes won 2-1 at League One Scunthorpe thanks to goals from George Thomas and Sam Hughes but the Foxes' young stars were boosted by a string of experienced players including Kelechi Iheanacho, Leonardo Ulloa and Ben Hamer.
Two other Premier League clubs saw their sides ousted, though, as Swansea lost 3-2 at home to Charlton and West Ham were thumped 4-0 at free-scoring League Two side Luton.
The only other shock on Tuesday night saw League Two Yeovil beat third-tier AFC Wimbledon 2-0, while Forest Green progressed with a 1-0 win at Swindon.
Elsewhere, Oxford and Oldham won away at fellow League One clubs Gillingham and Bradford respectively, the former winning 2-1 and the latter 1-0, while Lincoln saw off Accrington 3-2 in an all League Two affair at Sincil Bank.
There was also a 2-1 win for Shrewsbury at Port Vale and Fleetwood beat Chesterfield 2-0.
The draw for the next round takes place on Friday lunchtime.
