After a shaky start The Foxes have racked up seven points in three games to drag themselves out of the relegation zone with the busy festive period approaching.
The Turkish international says that Micky Adams' side need to carry that form into the Christmas games to try and bag enough points to keep them outside of the bottom three.
No team has ever managed to escape the drop after being bottom of The Premiership at Christmas, and Izzet is determined for them not to be in that position.
"We are hitting good form at the right time and everyone knows that we have to keep it going," said Izzet.
"The table always tends to take shape after the festive spell when the games come thick and fast and we need to get a few more points on the board before then.
"Teams that are stuck near the bottom at the turn of the year tend to stay there and we have to make sure that we're not among them."
Meanwhile, Leicester defender Matthew Heath has extended his loan spell at Stockport County for a further month.
The 22-year-old joined The Hatters during October and will remain at Edgeley Park until December 20.
