Foxes make Douglas bid

Leicester have made an offer to sign Celtic goalkeeper Rab Douglas.

Leicester have made an offer to sign Celtic goalkeeper Rab Douglas.

Douglas is out of contract in the summer and as yet no new deal has been offered to the Scotland goalkeeper.

Foxes boss Craig Levein is on the look-out for a new goalkeeper after letting Ian Walker leave the club and he has made Douglas his top target.

Levein is waiting to see if Douglas will accept his offer to move to The Walkers Stadium.

"We've spoken to Rab and Celtic know all about our discussions," said Levein.

"We've made him an offer and he's considering it.

"There is no rush but obviously I'm hoping he'll decide to join us as he is someone I'd love to have at the club.

"He's had his ups and downs but Rab is an excellent keeper.

"He's vastly experienced and wouldn't be fazed by playing in front of 30,000 fans at Leicester."

Levein is also hoping to sign Celtic's versatile star Momo Sylla after he impressed on trial at the club.

Sylla still has one-year to run on his contract and Levein insists a deal for the African could be more difficult.

"That's more complex because, unlike Rab, Momo is still under contract with Celtic for next season," added Levein.

Meanwhile, former Leicester defender Nikos Dabizas has revealed he has set his sights on a move to Italy.

The Greek international was released by the club at the end of the season and he revealed that he has a couple of offers from Italy.

"I have accepted what Craig Levein has said to me and now it is time for me to make the next move," said Dabizas.

"I would like to go to Italy and I think that there may be one or two possibilities for me to move there."
