Leicester City have confirmed they will be looking to bring in a striker on loan.
Leicester City are looking to bring in a striker on loan after learning that Matt Fryatt will be sidelined for a further fortnight.
Fryatt picked up an ankle injury in training at the end of last month and is still some way off returning to full fitness.
The 20-year-old striker had a scan recently which confirmed another two weeks is required for the injury to fully heal.
Foxes boss Rob Kelly is now searching for a suitable addition to the squad to cover the striker shortage at the club.
"We are actively looking to bring someone in," assistant manager Mike Stowell told the club's official website.
"We are a bit thin on the ground on the striker front and that is one area that is prime for us and one that we are looking at.
"The Board are backing us, as they always do. That's encouraging.
"Rob is on the case and we have got a few irons in the fire, but obviously we are not going to reveal any names at this moment in time."
Meanwhile, Leicester have allowed striker Louis Dodds to join Conference side Northwich on a month-long loan.
The 20-year-old is yet to feature for the first team but is a highly-rated prospect having been named the club's academy player of the year.
"Louis is a promising young striker who needs to get some football under his belt. He has scored at every level since he has been here and it is just a question now whether he can take the next step," Stowell said.
"The move gives us the chance to take a good look at him. We will have someone at all his games and we will watch him closely. He is still learning and growing into the game.
"Several clubs from the Conference had expressed an interest in taking Louis on loan. He is certainly hot property at that level."
Dodds goes straight into Northwich's squad for their trip to Exeter on Tuesday evening.
One player that will not staying at The Walkers Stadium is former Wigan Athletic midfielder Gareth Farrelly following a trial with The Foxes.
