Season over for McCarthy

Patrick McCarthy will miss the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

Patrick McCarthy will miss the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder, Leicester boss Rob Kelly has confirmed.

The defender suffered the injury in a training ground accident prior to the 1-1 draw with Luton at the start of the month.

McCarthy was sent for an operation this week and Kelly had hoped he would recover in time to play again before the end of the season, but he has now been ruled out for Leicester's 15 remaining games.

"The operation went very well but he will not play again this season," Kelly told the club's official website.

"That is disappointing because he is a player for us who is a leader both on and off the pitch.

"But the most important thing is that he now gets himself right and ready for the start of next season."
