Hearts assistant coach Stephen Frail is to have a closer look at Fernando Screpis.
Hearts assistant coach Stephen Frail is keen to have a closer look at Fernando Screpis.
The Argentinian is currently on trial with the Scottish side after being told he was no longer wanted by his previous club Defensores de Belgrano.
Frail, though, likes what he has seen and expects to see more of the midfielder when Hearts travel to Germany for the second half of their European pre-season tour on Wednesday.
Screpis, 28, played the second half of Hearts' 2-1 win over Austria Vienna on Saturday and Frail was satisfied with the midfielder's performance.
"He showed he has got a good left foot and touch and I'm sure we'll see more of him in Germany and we can have a better look," Frail told Hearts News.
"It might have been better to have seen him in the first half when the pace of the game was up there and he is doing what you're asking him to do."
Damian Gimenez is also trying to secure a contract at Tynecastle after being made available by Nueva Chicago following their relegation to Nacional B in Argentina
Hearts are also trying to finalise a deal with Stephen Hughes after agreeing a £50,000 fee with Leicester
The Scottish club are also reportedly in talks with the agent of Ruben Palazuelos of Spanish side Gimnastic.
