Swiss midfielder refuses to speculate on where he will end up

Gokhan Inler admits his future remains unclear, with numerous clubs reported to be chasing his signature. The midfielder remains on the books of Serie A outfit Udinese for now, but concedes that he may not begin the 2011/12 campaign with his current employers. Speculation regarding a move elsewhere has dragged on for some years now, with sides from across Europe understood to be plotting big-money raids. A switch to England, and possibly Arsenal, has been widely touted in the past, while Napoli and Juventus are understood to be keen on keeping him in Italy.

The Switzerland international acknowledges that anything is still possible, but insists he is no nearer to knowing where he will be come the end of the transfer window. "Once I have news on my future you will be the first ones to know," Inler posted on his Facebook profile. "After an intense year, which has gone from the World Cup to the Champions League with Udinese and becoming captain of the Swiss national side, I am going on vacation. "But even from afar I will be with you and hope you will continue to stand by me."
