Leicester boss wants to 'kill' story of interest in former England captain

Sven Goran Eriksson has not asked David Beckham to move to Leicester because the former England boss is embarrassed by the subject. The future of ex-England captain Beckham is the subject of much conjecture, with the 36-year-old's contract at LA Galaxy set to expire in November. Beckham has been linked with Leicester in the past and reports recently suggested Eriksson was trying to lure him to the King Power Stadium in a player-coach role. However, the Swede said: "It's not going to happen. I have not offered him a player-coach role. "David knows that we would take him, of course, and if he wants to come he has my number so that's not a problem. But I haven't spoken to him because I get embarrassed by it. "I don't know what he is going to do, I have no idea. But I doubt that he wants to come to the Championship. If I was in his clothes, I doubt I would do that. "I don't know if he wants to be a coach, I have no idea. I don't know if he wants to be a coach and I don't know where these stories keep coming from. "I think we should also kill that story because it is not true."
