Leicester have completed the signing Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler on a three-year deal.
Sky Sports reported at the start of August that the Foxes had agreed a fee with Napoli for the Switzerland international and were closing in on his signature.
But it is believed there were several parties with a financial interest in Inler that complicated the deal and led to a delay in him joining Claudio Ranieri's side, who have had a flying start to the Premier League season.
Inler passed a medical late on Wednesday and agreed personal terms. He will take the No 33 shirt.
"I'm very happy to be here because it has taken a long time to discuss (the transfer)," he said. "Leicester is a nice team that I have watched several times.
"For me it was not so easy because I had many, many teams interested in me and I decided in my heart that I would come to Leicester City."
Ranieri had been consistently tight-lipped about Inler's potential arrival in the East Midlands, as Leicester beat Sunderland and West Ham in their opening two fixtures.
Inler joined Napoli in July 2011 and has been a firm favourite at the club during his time in southern Italy.
The 31-year-old played for both Switzerland and Turkey at Under-21 level before he opted to represent the Swiss national team at senior level.
After starting his career with Basel, Inler joined FC Aarau, before making a move to Udinese in 2007 where he sprung to prominence.
