Demarai Gray looks set to stay at Birmingham City despite reported interest in the winger’s services from Leicester City.

Leicester are understood to have made a move to try to sign the youngster, who only signed a new deal committing his future to Birmingham earlier this month, but a switch to the King Power Stadium appears unlikely.

Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri refused to be drawn on speculation linking Leicester to the England U20 international but admitted his admiration for the player, who has attracted previous interest from Bournemouth.

He said: "I don't speak about speculation, only when a player arrives. There are some good players like him but it is not only him. We are looking around at everything."

Ranieri is on the lookout for wide men despite the impressive early-season form of Leicester duo Riyad Mahrez and Marc Albrighton.

Mahrez has scored four goals in his first three games of the season but Ranieri is looking for back-up, despite having no intention of selling the Algeria international.

The high-flying Foxes go to Bournemouth on Saturday after an unbeaten start to their Premier League campaign, which sees them sit joint second.

But Ranieri is refusing to get carried away by the promising start Leicester have made this term, insisting retaining the club's Premier League status remains his primary focus.

He said: "Now we must stay calm, continue to fight. Our goal is to reach 40 points as soon as possible.

"Everyone now is smiling but it's my job to remind everyone there are smiles and bad moments. Remember the bad moments now so you have the right balance. When we lose we remember the good moments."
