Barnsley are stepping up their bid to sign Rotherham United midfielder Lee Williamson.
Reports claim The Tykes have already been knocked back with a £150,000 offer for the 24-year-old.
But the Championship club are now set to return to their South Yorkshire rivals with an improved bid of £200,000.
Williamson joined Rotherham on a free transfer from Northampton Town last summer and made an immediate impact at Millmoor.
His form is thought to have caught the eye of Tykes boss Andy Ritchie, who is preparing his squad for second tier football.
Ritchie has been active in the transfer market this week by signing Sam Togwell and Michael McIndoe, and now appears to be trying to tempt Williamson to the club.
