Celtic boss Neil Lennon has rejected suggestions that Paddy McCourt has asked for a transfer away from Parkhead.
McCourt is thought to have been the subject of a tentative enquiry from Liverpool earlier this month after catching the eye on international duty with Northern Ireland.
Tricky winger McCourt has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the Celtic side since arriving from Derry City in 2008.
The 27-year-old is thought to be unhappy at his lack of regular action and, although Lennon can understand McCourt's frustration, he insists his fellow Ulsterman has not asked to leave.
"Paddy has not asked for a transfer and I don't know where that has come from," Lennon told the Daily Record.
"It is unsettling for him. It is people making trouble for him.
"Paddy has asked me about trying to get a regular game. He'd like to play more and I can understand that. He just has to be patient."
