Barnsley move for Egyptian striker

Sky Sports understands Barnsley have made an audacious attempt to lure Egyptian ace Mido to Oakwell. The 29-year-old, who has extensive experience in England, is currently a free agent after leaving Zamalek in May. The Tykes are now understood to have made a move for the striker with the hope of persuading him to join the Championship outfit. Mido has had a colourful career to date, which has seen him play in seven countries for 10 different clubs. After spells with Gent, Ajax, Celta Vigo, Marseille and Roma he moved to England and spent time with Tottenham, Middlesbrough, Wigan and West Ham. He returned to Egypt in 2011 with Zamalek, but left them at the end of the season and now Barnsley are hoping to persuade him to come back to England. Last season Barnsley helped relaunch Ricardo Vaz Te when they signed him on a free transfer and they are now hoping Mido will look to rekindle his career with them.
