Lazar Markovic has joined Hull City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old Serbian was on loan at Sporting Lisbon but that agreement was cancelled by mutual consent leaving him free to join the Tigers.

Markovic joined Liverpool from Benfica for £20m in the summer of 2014 when Brendan Rodgers was manager.

After spending last season on loan at Fenerbahce, Markovic returned to Liverpool in the summer but failed to impress manager Jurgen Klopp during the pre-season.

Hull City head coach Marco Silva has told reporters he is trying to sign wide players this month. His side have money to spend after selling Jake Livermore to West Brom for £10m last week.

Silva has already made one addition to his squad this month with the signing of Norwegian right back Omar Elabdellaoui on loan from Greek side Olympiakos.
