Hull City have completed the signing of Czech Republic international defender Ondrej Mazuch for an undisclosed fee from Sparta Prague.

The 28-year-old centre-back has been on trial with Hull during their pre-season training camp in Portugal and played in both their 1-0 friendly win over Benfica on Saturday and Tuesday night's goalless draw with FC Nantes.

Two impressive performances in those games have seen the centre-back rewarded with a permanent two-year deal.

Mazuch has been at Sparta on a free transfer in 2015 after being released by Dnipro in Ukraine, but he has made only 18 league appearances for the Czech side.

He has also previously played for Fiorentina and Anderlecht, and has represented his country on four occasions.

Speaking after signing his deal, Mazuch said: "Of course I am very happy to sign the contract with Hull because it has always been my dream to play in England.

"I'm delighted the club have given me this fantastic opportunity and I would like to thank everyone who has helped me to make this transfer. Now the deal has been finalised, I can't wait for the new season to start."
