The big game of the day was played out in front of the Sky TV cameras at Bootham Crescent as York played host to league leaders Hartlepool.
Mike Newell's side had the better of the encounter but neither side could put on a show and the game ended goalless to keep Hartlepool out in front on their own and also keep Terry Dolan's Minstermen in the play-off picture.
The Cherries travelled to lowly Bristol Rovers but were unable to break down The Pirates and had to settle for a point against the club still second from bottom in the table.
Boston United travelled to Devon to face Exeter City with both sides level on points near the foot of the table.
Neil Redfearn opened the scoring for the visiting Pilgrims a minute before the interval and Stuart Douglas notched in the final minute to leave The Grecians rooted to the bottom of the table.
Paul Hayes opened the scoring for Scunthorpe against Hull at Glandford Park before Jamie Forrester levelled for the visitors.
Matthew Sparrow struck twice late on for the hosts as they moved up into the play-offs with a well-earned 3-1 win against Peter Taylor's Tigers.
Bryan Flynn's Swansea revival continues after they completed a creditable 2-0 win over Cambridge United at Vetch Field.
Marc Richards grabbed a brace for The Swans as they move further clear of the relegation dogfight and put a dent in Cambridge's fading play-off ambitions.
Wrexham bolstered their play-off challenge courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Southend at the Racecourse.
Carlos Edwards gave the hosts the lead before the Division's top scorer Andy Morrell got his customary goal and Paul Edwards completed a comfortable win for the Welsh side.
Kidderminster dented Torquay's promotion hopes with a 2-0 win at Aggborough thanks to goals from on-loan Wolves ace JJ Melligan and one from Bo Henriksen.
Lincoln City played out a 1-1 draw with Darlington at Sincil Bank but went behind to Barry Conlon's 22nd minute goal, only for Chris Ward to earn a point for the hosts with his goal just after the half-hour.
