The 29-year-old Dutchman returns to the Withdean Stadium after making three appearances for The Tigers this season but will be eager to reclaim the Seagulls number one jersey again.
Coppell's decision to recall Kuipers comes after Ben Roberts went down with a back injury.
Kuipers should be in line for a start against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, with youngster Ross Flitney likely to act as cover for the home side at the weekend.
"Ben had treatment on his back this morning, and remains a doubt for the weekend game with Sheffield Wednesday, therefore it makes sense that we recall Michel from Hull," Coppell told the club's official website.
The Dutchman is delighted to return to the Withdean Stadium and hopes the action he received with Peter Taylor's side will help him reclaim the starting job with the South Coast outfit.
"I only found out this (Wednesday) morning that I was coming back, but I am very pleased to be coming," revealed Kuipers.
"I went to Hull to get some games under my belt.
"It has definitely benefited me, as first-team games are always better than reserve team games and I feel I have played well."
