DIVISION THREE ROUND-UP

The top two in Division Three both had to settle for draws on Tuesday, as Hull and Oxford drew at Bury and York respectively.

York's management team were both on the scoresheet, but unfortunately for Chris Brass his effort on nine minutes was in the wrong net. His assistant Lee Nogan saved his blushes by levelling the match on 37 minutes.

York, who have faltered of late, thought they had got their own promotion push back on track when Richard Hope netted on 63 minutes. However, Oxford grabbed a point when Chris Hackett (pictured) netted five minutes from time.

Oxford missed out on the chance to go top of as Hull were held to a 0-0 draw at Bury, but the stalemate kept The Tigers clear of the chasing pack.

Dave Kitson netted a brace of goals as Cambridge inflicted a rare home defeat on Swansea.

Doncaster are starting to look like real promotion contenders, and they secured a battling 2-1 win over Rochdale.

Francis Tierney fired Rovers in front on two minutes, but the lead lasted just over 60 seconds as Kevin Townson fashioned a leveller.

However, the home side showed the greater resolve and were rewarded with victory when Chris Brown hit the target with 15 minutes remaining.

Boston heaped more pressure on struggling Southend boss Steve Wignall, as The Pilgrims grabbed a rare away win at Roots Hall.

Second half goals by Lee Thompson and Simon Weatherstone consigned The Shrimpers to another home defeat.

Carlisle show no signs of getting out of their current trough and they slumped to their 12th defeat in 15 games.

Steve Torpey, Steven MaClean, Kevin Sharp and Peter Beagrie scored the goals that left The Cumbrians rooted to the foot of the table, with Craig Farrell's effort proving nothing more than a consolation.

Cheltenham brushed off the loss of Bobby Gould to run out 2-1 winners over Darlington. Goals by Jamie Victory and Martin Devaney sandwiched an effort from Alan Morgan to hand The Robins a needed three points.

Terry Skiverton is making up for lost time, having missed the early part of the season, and he netted Yeovil's opener in their win over Huddersfield.

Jon Stead levelled for The Terriers shortly before the break, but Yeovil regrouped and Lee Johnson netted the winner on 52 minutes.

Torquay and Kidderminster had narrow 1-0 wins over Mansfield and Northampton respectively.

Francis Green popped up in the last minute to hand Lincoln a thrilling 3-2 win over Macclesfield.

Matthew Tipton twice brought Macclesfield level, after Peter Gain and Richard Butcher had fired Lincoln in front, but Green had the last word in the 90th minute.

Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient played out a 1-1 draw, with Jabo Ibehere grabbing a point with a late goal for The O's after Paul Tait had given the home side a first half advantage.
