The Terriers powered into the play-off spots in Division Three with an impressive win over Dave Penney's men - with star striker Jonathan Stead enhancing his growing reputation with another two goals.
Stead broke the deadlock three minutes before half time at The McAlpine Stadium, and doubled the lead with his second on 69 minutes.
Gregg Blundell pulled one back for the visitors but Jonathan Worthington sealed the points for Huddersfield with eight minutes left to play.
Hull City recorded a 2-0 win at home to Cambridge thanks to a Stuart Elliott double to keep The Tigers' march towards Division Two on track as they close to within a point of leaders Oxford by overtaking Doncaster.
Bottom side Carlisle United grabbed a morale-boosting victory at home to Boston United, with a Ben Chapman own goal and Matt Fryatt strike cancelling out Graeme Jones' opener for The Pilgrims.
A Ciaran Toner goal after just nine minutes was enough to give Leyton Orient all three points at home to Darlington with a 1-0 win.
Lincoln City remain in the play-off picture courtesy of a 2-1 win at Sincil Bank over visiting Bury.
Gary Fletcher gave the home side the lead after just four minutes, and Francis Green doubled their advantage shortly before the half hour.
Chris Porter pulled one back for The Shakers in the 90th minute but it was too little to late for Bury.
