Hull won't go for Kuipers

Hull City will not turn to former loanee Michel Kuipers in their attempts to secure a new goalkeeper.

Brighton & Hove Albion shot-stopper Kuipers spent a brief spell on loan with The Tigers last season and has been linked with a return to The Kingston Communications Stadium.

With Hull dropping their interest in Sergio Leite, Tigers boss Peter Taylor is chasing back-up for Boaz Myhill.

But Taylor feels it would be futile pursuing any interest in Dutch keeper Kuipers for a combination of reasons.

Taylor does not believe Kuipers would be within Hull's price range and he also thinks the 30-year-old would not settle for being an understudy to Myhill.

"We do need a new goalie but I've promised the chairman I will stick to the budget he's given me," Taylor told the Hull Daily Mail.

"I haven't spoken to Michel, or to Brighton, but knowing him as I do, I would think he'd be priced out of our range.

"I've been very impressed with Boaz. He's my first choice and I honestly feel he can only get better and better.

"If Michel did leave Brighton, I'm sure he'd be looking to be first choice himself."
