Swindon Town striker Sam Parkin harbours no regrets about not joining Hull City.Swindon Town striker Sam Parkin harbours no regrets about not joining Hull City in the summer.
Parkin was a target for the ambitious Tigers, with Swindon reportedly snubbing a £250,000 offer for the forward from their League One rivals.
The 23-year-old will have an opportunity to show Hull boss Peter Taylor what he missed out on this weekend as Swindon play host to The Tigers.
But Parkin, who has netted six goals this season, admits he was not disappointed that Swindon spurned Hull's overtures.
Instead, the hot shot feels Swindon can prove to be more than a match for their opponents, both on Saturday and through the season.
"I wasn't unhappy when the club turned down Hull's bid in the summer and I've no regrets at all," Parkin told the Swindon Evening Advertiser.
"They might be higher than us in the league but I remain convinced that we have just as good a chance of getting promotion.
"They have more money to spend but the gaffer here (Andy King) has made good acquisitions without really spending anything.
"Hull are going well but I don't feel they are streets ahead of us by any stretch of the imagination."
