Hull City have signed former Port Vale striker Stephen McPhee.Hull City have signed former Port Vale striker Stephen McPhee from Portuguese club Beira Mar.
The 23-year-old marksman moved to Portugal last year on a free transfer but wanted to move away after the club suffered relegation.
McPhee had several offers for his services but the Scot said that a conversation with Tigers boss Peter Taylor made him decide to join the newly-promoted Championship outfit.
"Once I spoke to Peter Taylor and he informed me of Hull's plans for the coming season, I had no hesitation in signing," McPhee told the Stellar Group website.
"I have had a fantastic year in Portugal, I have no doubt that my game has improved immensely as a result.
"A number of big clubs have shown an interest in me, both in Portugal and back in England, but once I had spoken to Peter Taylor, I knew it was too good an opportunity to turn down."
Taylor has paid £220,000 to secure McPhee's services, with the Scottish striker penning a two-year deal at the KC Stadium.
