Grimsby manager Neil Woods is considering another emergency move for Hull City goalkeeper Mark Oxley.
Oxley joined the Mariners as cover over the Easter period, with first-choice stopper Nick Colgan and back-up Leigh Overton both sidelined with knocks picked up in training.
Both keepers are still struggling for fitness and Town may again turn to their Premier League neighbours for help ahead of the trip to Hereford on Saturday.
"If he (Colgan) is not fit for we would have to look at the situation and possibly speak to Hull about Mark Oxley again," said Grimsby boss Neil Woods.
"They have called Mark back and that is their prerogative, but Mark has done very well for us. He has got better with every game and had a fine game at Accrington, where he made a couple of very good saves.
"The players here are familiar with him - we like Mark and we like what he has done since we brought him in."
Lancashire boost
Meanwhile, Grimsby centre-back Oliver Lancashire has won his appeal against a three-match ban for his dismissal against Northampton on Good Friday.
An FA disciplinary panel upheld the appeal against the straight red card issued by Cheshire official Anthony Taylor for an alleged elbowing incident.
It means the young Southampton loanee is free to play to face Hereford.
"I would like to thank Northampton," Woods told the club's
official website.
"Their management and staff and all their players have backed our claim and I'm really grateful to them."
