Hull City have finalised the signing of Peterborough United striker Aaron Mclean for an undisclosed fee.
Mclean had been lined up for a move to the KC Stadium as Tigers boss Nigel Pearson looks to boost his attacking options in the January transfer window.
Pearson has now secured Mclean on a three-and-a-half year contract, with Hull paying a fee thought to be in the region of £1.3million.
"Aaron has been part of a side that has had some success," Pearson told the club's official website.
"Also, when I've come up against Peterborough in the past I've always felt that if you could contain the front two you stood a good chance.
"Hopefully he will bring goals to the team, but also he will bring a level of work-rate, enthusiasm and ability to put opponents under pressure.
"He is a very ambitious young man and he is looking forward to this challenge. That is important because we want the people that we get in to be keen and want to do well for the club.
"I'm sure Aaron will have a positive impact."
Providing clearance is received in time, Mclean will be thrown straight into the Tigers' squad for the New Year's Day game against Leicester City.
A deal for Leicester forward Matty Fryatt is also in the pipeline, while Hull have also had an offer for Swindon Town hot shot Charlie Austin rejected.
