Wigan match-winner keen for goal to inspire
Maynor Figueroa is hoping Wigan's victory over Birmingham at the weekend will inspire them to Premier League safety.
The Honduran full-back grabbed the winner in a 2-1 success as the Latics came from behind to seal a crucial three points.
Although Wigan remain bottom of the table, they are just two points off safety.
"I'm really proud of the goal because it meant three points for the team,"
Figueroa said.
"I was just happy to be able to contribute in this way, because I felt my performance in the first half was not so great for me.
"It was a great day for us and now we must push on and get ourselves out of the relegation zone and use the confidence we have generated to continue winning games."
