Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone says it is important his team get a positive result when Tottenham visit the KC Stadium on Sunday.

The Tigers have not won since the start of October and lost 1-0 to bottom-of-the-table Burnley in their last match before the international break.

After Tweeting his dissatisfaction with Hull’s performance against Burnley, Tom Huddlestone is eager that his side put in an improved effort against Spurs

Hull do not have a good record against visitors Spurs in the Premier League, winning only one of their six meetings, losing half and conceding nine goals.

However, despite the record, Huddlestone cannot wait to play against his former team, the club where he spent eight years before moving for £5million in August 2013.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "It's nice to get the break in. We've had 10 days now to work on things.

"Obviously a lot of the lads are away but the feeling straight after the game (at Burnley) was wishing there was a game on the Tuesday night to go and try and put it right.

"I'm usually my harshest critic anyway. I think you've got to be honest with the fans. There's no point in sugar-coating a performance like that.

"On the other hand you can't get too down after one result. We weren't shouting from the rooftops when we got a draw at Anfield and at the Emirates!"
