Leeds midfielder Tommaso Bianchi has joined Italian club Ascoli on loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

Bianchi, 27, has returned to his native country after an 18-month spell at Elland Road which has been blighted by injury.

Ascoli confirmed on their website that Bianchi had joined on an initial loan deal, with the player set to take part in his first training session with his new club on Thursday before being presented to the media. He will wear the number 30 shirt with the Serie B side.

Leeds paid Sassuolo an undisclosed fee in July 2014 to sign Bianchi, who has been restricted to 26 appearances in total for the Yorkshire club.
