The Whites' new coach Terry Venables is well versed on the Spanish League after managing Barcelona earlier in his career and he still has close contacts in La Liga, who have seemingly tipped him off about the availability of Bravo.
The 21-year-old Bravo has only made six first team appearances at Santiago Bernabeu, but this has already earned him a call-up to the Spanish squad.
Bravo's abilities have not gone unnoticed by Venables, who is reported to have made two bids of é¼8 and é¼10 million respectively, for the stopper.
However, Madrid are not keen on selling the youngster, although at the same time they are not completely ruling out the possibility of him leaving.
Indeed a fee of é¼12 million is thought to be the price placed on Bravo's head by Real's sporting director Jorge Valdano.
The player himself would obviously not be keen on leaving his homeland at such a tender age, but the promise of a massive pay rise could be enough to tempt him to England.
Leeds are yet to come back to Madrid with another offer, but a slight increase would see them go some way to landing the promising stopper, who is contracted to Real until 2006.
