Loan signing Marlon King was attracted to Leeds United by their ambition.Leeds United loan signing Marlon King has revealed that the club's ambition was the key factor behind his decision to join.
King, who signed from Nottingham Forest, believes Leeds have a good chance of making the play-offs and turned down several other offers to move to the Yorkshire club.
"It is brilliant to be at Leeds, who were my No 1 choice all along," King told The Yorkshire Post.
"I had the chance to go elsewhere but I wasn't interested.
"It would have been easy to pick somewhere where I would have been playing regularly but I wanted to be part of something that is really, really positive.
"Leeds are on the up. I don't think many people realise just how well they have been doing.
"I just want to play regularly and to play as high as possible. Coming to Leeds gives me that opportunity.
"It seems much more of a relaxed atmosphere here, which could be because of the club's position in the league."
Meanwhile, Leeds chairman Ken Bates has again rejected speculation that he wants to replace manager Kevin Blackwell with Dennis Wise.
Bates is an admirer of the Millwall manager and the pair know each other from their time together at Chelsea.
"I believe Dennis, of whom I'm very fond, will one day become a top manager," Bates told The Sun.
"But I already have in place a manager in Kevin Blackwell who is doing a fantastic job.
"Change the manager? No chance. It just won't happen."
