Veteran striker feared for career

Leeds United striker Tore Andre Flo admits he feared for his career after breaking his foot last season. Flo joined Leeds in January, but suffered a foot injury in his second appearance and subsequently missed the rest of the season. He came off the bench to score in Saturday's 4-1 win over Southend United on Saturday and the veteran Norwegian is now determined to repay the club's faith. "Scoring again like that was a good feeling," said the 34-year-old in the Daily Star. "I feared I would never experience that again because I've been out for such a long time.

Worst period

"It has been the worst period of my career. I did think 'can I come back?' I was really struggling, but scoring again makes all the hard work and pain worthwhile. "Dennis Wise and Leeds have been great to me. They have believed in me despite all that has happened. "I'm quite old now, but the club has given me a new contract and there seems to be a great atmosphere in the squad. "I think Leeds might be my last club, so it would be great to repay them with a successful season."
