Leeds boss Dennis Wise is still hoping to secure the services of Hibernian defender Rob Jones, despite having an initial bid turned down.
Centre-back Jones, who moved to Easter Road from Grimsby in the summer of 2006, still has three years remaining on his contract.
Wise said: "We put an offer in and it got turned down. We're waiting to find out what else they would like really.
"We're trying to get certain players in and he's one we're interested in. That's all I can say really. We'll wait and see over the next week or so."
But Hibernian boss John Collins is determined to retain the services of his skipper.
He told The Scotsman: "Rob has done a terrific job for us and when players are doing well other clubs can take notice, that's what happens in football.
"I don't want to sell him and he is under contract. If someone wants to buy him they will just have to wait.
"I am not going to deny that there has been interest in him but he is too important to the team to let him go. We have to think about our own team and the way we want to play."
