Midfielder looking for permanent deal at Priestfield

Leeds United midfielder Curtis Weston has joined Gillingham on a month's loan. Weston has been allowed to leave Elland Road after failing to establish himself in Gary McAllister's plans. The former Millwall youngster was signed by McAllister's predecessor Dennis Wise 12 months ago and made 11 appearances for Leeds last season. However, he spent a spell on loan at Scunthorpe United towards the end of the campaign and has recently been on trial at Hibernian. The 21-year-old has now been given the opportunity to secure a permanent move to Gillingham after arriving on loan. Gills boss Mark Stimson had been looking to strengthen his squad ahead of next week's opening game of the League Two campaign against Bournemouth.
