Leeds boss insists everyone will get opportunity to shine

Leeds manager Simon Grayson insists everyone will get a chance to shine in pre-season including those who found themselves on the fringes last year. The former Blackpool boss highlighted Tresor Kandol and David Prutton as two players who could find themselves in his plans for the new season. Kandol and Prutton were considered surplus to requirements last year with the 27-year-old striker loaned out to Millwall and Charlton and midfielder Prutton making just eight league starts. However Grayson is prepared to wipe the slate clean ahead of the upcoming season, declaring that all players will be given an opportunity. "He's (Kandol) come back here and is under contract, any player that is under contract has got an opportunity to impress, I'm not discarding anybody," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Fit and sharp

"Prutts has also come back and is looking fit and sharp, as a lot of the players are. Whatever they did last year is history to a certain degree. "It's a new season and new start for everybody. The players will all be given their opportunity to play football and then we'll go down the line of seeing who will be staying and going." Leeds began their pre-season campaign with a 3-3 draw at York. United came from behind to take a 3-1 lead with Luciano Becchio, Mike Whitwell and Andy Milne on target but two late goals from their hosts meant it ended all square.
