Stephen Warnock has praised the hard-nosed approach of Aston Villa defenders Richard Dunne and James Collins to their work.
Dunne and Collins form one of the best central defensive pairings in the business, and this was again demonstrated against Swansea who failed to score against Villa last Sunday.
They have an on-field persona as uncompromising, rugged stoppers but Warnock insists away from the pitch, that image could not be further from the truth.
"Dunnie and Ginge are a fantastic pairing," said Warnock on the club's official website.
"There are a few Premier League teams who'd love them as a central pairing.
"I think the manager came in he would have identified them as probably the strongest part of our team - or one of the strongest parts of the team certainly.
"He would have been delighted he didn't have to go out and buy any new centre-backs. He inherited that experience the pair have got in their locker."
He added: "We get on well together. We're good mates off the pitch certainly.
"We have a right go at each other on the field but we know when we step off it that we can talk and that's left on the pitch and we can get on well.
"All our families get on well, which is nice too. You won't meet two nicer people than Richard and James.
"It's just a natural thing that you do get on with them. It's an easy thing."
