Midfielder expected to complete move on Friday

Paul Lambert is confident Jonny Howson will be a Norwich player by the weekend, with the midfielder closing on a switch from Leeds. The Canaries have seen an offer accepted by the Whites and are in the process of thrashing out personal terms and tying up any other loose ends. Howson is expected to travel to Norfolk on Friday to finalise his move and put pen to paper. Lambert expects the deal to be pushed through without any last-minute drama, with the club unfazed by the fact that their new signing is carrying a knee injury. He said: "You never quite know until someone signs but I'm pretty sure it's nearly there. We know the extent of the injury and there are no worries about it." Lambert feels Howson will be an ideal addition to his squad, with Norwich looking to pose more of a threat in the final third. He added: "He's been brilliant for Leeds and we need a goalscoring midfielder. "If everything goes well he'll be great for us. His rehab is going very well and he is not far away (from playing)."
