Leeds striker Matt Smith has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-year contract that will keep him at Elland Road until 2017 at least.

The 25-year-old former Oldham frontman joined United last summer and scored 13 goals in 43 games in all competitions during his inaugural campaign with the Yorkshire outfit.

"I'm very happy and I'm delighted that it has happened," said the 6ft 6in Smith.
