League Two outfit Southend provided the shock of the night as they knocked out Swindon 2-0 at Roots Hall.
Last years finalist's made it to the Southern section final once again courtesy of strikes from Lawrie Dudfield and Nicky Nicolau, who scored directly from a corner after 73 minutes.
In the other Southern fixture Bristol Rovers overcame fellow League Two side Leyton Orient after coming back from 1-0 down.
