Freddy Eastwood has shrugged off rumoured interest from Nottingham Forest.Prolific Southend striker Freddy Eastwood has shrugged off rumoured interest from Nottingham Forest.
Eastwood played a crucial role in The Shrimpers' promotion campaign as he netted 19 goals, including a strike in the play-off final against Lincoln.
After moving from non-league Grays Athletic the forward has proved to be a revelation and has been linked with a move to Gary Megson's Forest outfit.
Despite both clubs lining up to play League One football next season, a move to the City Ground would still represent a massive career leap for the player although he insists that he would reject a move to the two-time European Cup winners.
"They are a big club with great history and support and it's nice to be linked with a club like Forest because it means I must be doing something right." Eastwood told the Essex Evening Echo.
"I will be playing at the City Ground next year but it won't be for Forest. I will be wearing blue not red and I will be with Southend United.
"I keep saying I want to stay and I really mean it. Come the start of pre-season training I am certain I will still be with Southend."
