Kenny Jackett has admitted Swansea missed out on Southend's Luke Guttridge.
Swansea City boss Kenny Jackett has admitted the club made a move for Southend United midfielder Luke Guttridge.
The Swans were linked with Guttridge following the news that Darren Way could be out of action for up to six weeks through injury.
Jackett confirmed their move for Guttridge, although the player was not keen on a switch to the Welsh club.
However, Swansea's need to cover of late has decreased as Jackett may turn to Darren Pratley and Kris O'Leary.
"We did make an enquiry a couple of weeks ago and the club were quite happy for him to come," Jackett admitted to the Evening Post.
"But the player didn't want to come to Swansea so that one's dead now.
"Will we keep looking? Well Darren Pratley may be back for Bristol City and Kris O'Leary should be okay despite getting another dead leg on Saturday.
"I thought Alan Tate did very well in central midfield at Port Vale, so it could be that we're overcoming that particular problem."
