French midfielder hoping to earn Blundell Park deal

Grimsby have offered French midfielder Kevin Tunani an opportunity to earn a permanent deal at the club. The 21-year-old has already featured in a trial game for the Mariners and is hoping to impress boss Mike Newell. The youngster has been captaining Bordeaux's reserve side this season, but appears to have little future at the Ligue 1 club. He has previously undergone unsuccessful trials at Charlton, Cheltenham and Yeovil. Meanwhile, Jean-Paul Kalala has headed back to Oldham at the conclusion of his loan deal. Grimsby had hoped to secure the Congo international on a permanent contract, but have yet to reach an agreement with the Latics.
